Boat Ramps
Articulated Concrete revetment Blocks (ACB) systems provide excellent traction, easy installation and low maintenance for boat ramp applications. ACB's offer inherent flexibility and are able to flex, and conform to any future changes in subgrade. The ACB installation comprises a matrix of individual concrete blocks placed together to form an erosion-resistant overlay. The term "articulated" describes the ability of the system to conform to changes in grade while individual blocks remain interlocked ensuring the continuity of the overlay as a whole. The units can be individually hand placed or cabled together and installed as pre-assembled mats. At the sides, top and bottom of the ramp, the ACB's are sloped into trenches to anchor the installation. ACB's have a successful history in underwater applications. The relatively high unit strength of 4,000 psi average compressive strength is recommended and proven field performance help demonstrate the system's durability in these applications.
